My Response for My ARTDM Lipkin Reading

Photography today is something that we use daily and don't stop to realize what it would be like without it. By the year 2003 for the first time...the amount of digital cameras exceeded the amount of regular Film Cameras that were ever sold in a year. In the 1980's scientists and professional photographers used high-end computers to create digital pictures. Today people often use regular color printers for printing.


It states that since the release of digital cameras, regular film has become less popular over time. However ordinary film photography is still used by some professional photographers. Sme people such as John Szarkowski describe that regular photography has not faded but evolved a great deal and is still changing. Photography, digital and regular, are both able to capture moments in time that friends and family will always treasure. Photography's social, cultural, technological innovations have changed the world and made life easier for people.


Professional photographers, sell books of their pictures from certain points in time. Many books display a theme for every artist has their own way of displaying things. Many will use Photoshop for their works and some others will use regular film and work the old fashioned way. It must be understood that all pictures deteriorate whether they are digital or regular film.


Digital Potography has it's advantages and it's disadvantages. Digital photographs can be loaded into the computer and edited and you can save the changes you've made with Adobe Photoshop. he disadvantage to this is that the more you edit your pictures they will become degregated each time you open the one image. Over time you may lose data. It's best to shoot in camera RAW and save all the pictures. They are considered negatives because they are enormous in size.


The advantages to regular photography is the fact of always having an actual negative to go back to if you would like to reuse the image for whatever you desire.


The creativity within photography has evolved over the years because of digital photography and it's effect on the world. It allows us to manipulate photographs and edit images. Regular photographers who don't shoot with digital cameras will change the physical appearance of the object they are shooting which may be more time consuming.

My Opinion On Quality Of Light

I have many opinions considering quality of light. I am sure on many of them I could be wrong and likely off topic however, I am writing this before I actually am going to read the handout paper for Quality of light...which basically means I am writing on my personal opinion. ( :


Candlelight is the most natural source of heat and light however I believe its heat source is the lowest among many things such as light bulbs, flood lamps, flash bulbs, the pure daylight, strobe light, the skylight, and the sun. The lowest source of light and heat (candlelight) is as brightest as 1900K and the brightest source of light (skylight) is as hot as 11,000K.


Different temperatures of light produce different colors. The different colors of light will range from different shades of ultraviolet, Red, blue, yellow, and the hottest color white. There are many other colors that aren't visible to the human eye and we only will see a small portion of them. All these colors range from many different temperatures.

My 19'th Birthday

Yay! I am so happy...I get to go to San Fransisco this Sunday to celebrate my 19'th birthday. I won't have many friends to invite to it however I will try to let myself have fun. I will just call everyone and say hi...it will make me feel better. I have a seriously large wish list, however I probably would like to get a new G5 Imac for my birthday gift. Maybe another gift I would like is also an Apple TV. I think I have had a desire for one of those for a long time, to just think about how I can put every single one of your movies on one tiny device and watch them whenever I want with ease. Plus you can store music and photo's on it as well. Nonetheless, I would like do buy a jacket, one button down t-shirt, and a sweater along with these gifts from A&F...I have a wardrobe setting in my head and I would like to complete it so I don't need to visualize it. Maybe it will motivate me to lose weight.


I truly have no idea what I am going to do in San Fransisco...I really want to got to the M. O. M. A. because I like the artwork displayed there. Theres also an Italian celebration being held on that day so I hear I am going to be attending this. My entire family consist of Italians. I love it but hate some of my body trait's.

It's so hard to see all of my friends leave and go off to college...I know that i'll miss them deeply. I miss my friend Chris W. so much, he was my support when I need alot of help with my schoolwork and homework. Without him I wouldn't have passed Geometry, but that was hard anyway.


There are also many people that I am also not sorry so see leave. Some were rude and there was one person who was totally a rude, slimy, stuck up, pornography watching, cussing, asshole. I can't believe I was friends with this person "who shall remain nameless". I suspected that he told the one girl that in high school that I loved her...but he blows things so out of proportion that it makes me want to kill him. I am afriaid he ruined my relationship with this girl I loved. Another kid, named Mark...he's so damn fake it makes me sick! He tries to act like a homosexual just so he can hang around a bunch of girls who are not really even his friend. They were originally mine when he took many of them from me. What a loser. I heard that the last high school he went to, he was expelled for getting into a large fight with a girl there and when he came to Pinole Valley High he tried to make friends with these girls here that were friends with the one girl he got into a fight with at his last school.


Nonetheless, I am parted from all my friends physically and it hurts...I only have my classes to look forward too, and to do all the hobbies that I love. I am so worn out when I come home though so sometimes I figure, "what's the point?" but I tend to listen to my iPhone a lot and rest because am seem to be tired alot these days. I can find refuge in calling my friends and talking to them on my iPhone, however I would only talk for about two minutes because I have a phone plan that limits me to only 7 hours a month. I also like the amount of time I talk with them because I will have more things to talk about next time.

Now that I am finally set up perfectly set up at Diablo Valley College, I have been steadily working on homework as well the the classwork. I sometimes struggle with my work but I often get help with my Algebra homework from my friend Chris W. I spent the whole Labor Day with him and that's when he helped me with my college work.


I have just completed my very first assignment for Digital Media (Photography) and it was finished totally in the nick-of time. I guess I should be proud of my work. I retouched up to six photograhs that were improved dramatically. I needed to shoot 48 pictures within 24 hours which seemed difficult because I am so picky about what I like to photograph.


On the other hand...I hate doing my English work. When we complete one essay, we are just about to start a new one, it's so nerve racking and the only thing that is comforting about the class is the friendly teacher and all the students who I have befriended there. I hate writing essays that are so open ended.


On Friday I don't g o to college. On this day I take some time to complete some of my homework that was assigned to me. I usually never finish it all, and I never want to because I get tired and stressed out. I shouldn't have to on my day off. I spend part of the day watching movies and resting to regain energy because every weeknight I will stay up until 1 or 2 am. On the weekend I complete most or the rest of my homework and work on a current essay that is assigned to me. But nonetheless I love the advantage of having free time.

On the 18'th of August 2007. I purchase the long awaited phone that Appl had released in July. I truly believe that it was money well spent and that I also put a lot of hard work into earned the money for iPhone. I work at a restaurant called Happy Sashimi so I worked there for eight days straight in the Summer. Each of those days I worked, I worked 11 hour shifts and sometimes 12 hour shifts that all started at 12:00 on those days.


It's a wonderful phone. It has very little downsides to using it...and it's fun. I'll admit that the iPhone has bugs and it's being updated all the time. I think the only downside to the iPhone is that the screen will break if the phone is ever dropped. The Upside is that the iPhones touch screen is scratch resistant. I have just one goal to make my iPhone alot more iteresting, and that is to install a special installer for the iPhone and the browse the internet for old NES ROM games and put them throguht he installer and into my new phone.

Monday and friday seems to be the two most difficult days of my school week. It's not only because I get more homework assigned to me but it's the fact that I will not be able to take the bus home those day. I totally hate riding the bus anyway...I know I am gonna get stoked about learning to drive soon.


Well digital photography is my first class on Monday and Wednesday and I believe that I have gotten off to a great start pus photography is one of my biggest hobbies along with art in general. and I am excited to learn how to use the camera as well as photoshop. I'd like to re'edit my old photos and restore them. The class feels rather long so we get to take a fifteen to a half-an hour break.

The second class I have is Math 75 and it's almost just as long as photography. Considering that I don't enjoy doing math much anymore, I might get bored easily. I have made a friend in there thoguh so things might work out for me. I hope I understand what I need to work on and take accurate notes. I did on Monday when I had that class and last night I completed the homework . It may have taken me about an hour and a half to complete it which annoyed me.


My last class of the day is English college Reading Composition. I showed up 20 minutes late because Math 75 rolls into this class which may be a problem. I have to fix this and then start that class work.

All Of these classes are on Moday and Wednesday...so I get Friday off..."rejoice".
